COVID-19: Delhi records whopping 5673 cases in 24 hrs

New Delhi, Oct 28 (UNI) The national capital registered the highest single-day spike of fresh 5,673 infections, official data showed on Wednesday.
According to the bulletin, 40 people lost their lives during the past 24 hours.
With new additions, the overall case tally has reached 3,70,014, while the death toll mounted to 6396.
A total of 60,571 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the past one day which includes 17,284 RT-PCR/ CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 43,287 rapid antigen tests.
The recovery rate was recorded at 90.33 per cent, while the positivity rate was 9.37 per cent. The death rate based on the last 10 days' data currently stands at 0.99 per cent.
Currently, there are 16,822 COVID patients under home isolation across the city, who are mostly asymptomatic or the ones with very mild symptoms. The number of active cases, which includes patients under home isolation, are 29,378.
The Health Department claimed that 10,100 beds are still vacant, while the containment zones in the city have now risen to 3,047.
