Vatika RWA gets HC stay on administrator’s appointment

Gurgaon: Days after the Registrar General of Societies (RGS) in Haryana appointed an administrator to look after the operations of Vatika City in Sector 49, the residents’ welfare association (RWA) managed to get a stay on the order from the Punjab and Haryana high court.
The stay order, issued by the HC on October 20, has left the residents frustrated as they feel that the administrator would have managed the society in a better way as they alleged the RWA was misusing their money for fighting legal cases of misappropriation of funds against them.
On October 16, RGS Saket Kumar had appointed HCS officer Vivek Kalia — now an estate officer with HSVP — as the administrator for managing the administration of Vatika City after it was found that the Vatika City Apartments Owners Association (VCAOA) has been following unethical methods to run the society.
“We believe in our judiciary, but it’s rather shocking to me as a common resident that despite results of detailed inquiry by the government department and all evidence of wrongdoing, the RWA —which was proven guilty — will be back at the helm of affairs,” said Nitin Mehta, a resident.
Another resident, Binita Mohanty, said, “The VCAOA has been found guilty of corruption, misappropriation of funds by RGS Sharma. Residents money have been used for paying lawyers . At the same time salaries of security staff is pending.”
Giriraj Gupta, VCAOA president, said, “The matter is sub-judice. All facts will be discussed in the high court.”
Vivek Kalia, who was appointed the administrator, said, “I recently took charge and had a meeting to review issues which included non-payment to the vendors engaged in maintenance and services since past few months; examining the work orders issued to these agencies; ways to cut down cost and enhance revenue by identifying default payments.”
