September unlock norms to stay till November-end

NEW DELHI: For the first time since the ‘Unlock’ phase was unveiled on June 22, with each progressive phase reopening the economy further and allowing more activities that were barred in the wake of the pandemic, the home ministry stuck to a mere extension of its guidelines announced on September 30 and applicable till October 31, to November 30.
In a letter to state chief secretaries/UT administrators, home secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla said almost all activities had been gradually opened up in areas outside containment zones since the first lockdown in March. The home ministry said that lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly in containment zones till November 30.
