KALYAN: A Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader was stabbed to death over alleged property dispute in Ambernath on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Patil, 37. He was vice president of Ambernath city unit of the MNS. Police said that the incident took place 6pm when Patil was on his way towards Pale village in Ambernath. Four persons attacked him with a sharp weapon.
Police said after attack, injured Patil was rushed to a private hospital in Kalyan where he died during treatment.
Following to the incident, Shivaji Nagar police registered a murder case and have detained four suspects.
Vivek Pansare, deputy commissioner of police, Zone 4 of Thane police said, "Our team have detained four suspects and primary probe shows Patil was killed over a land dispute but detailed probe is on."
