Not every DSSS, Grih Aadhar beneficiary have to submit life certificate: Goa CM Pramod Sawant

PANAJI: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that there is no need for the beneficiaries of Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) and Grih Aadhar scheme to submit life certificates, except for those who have received letters from the social welfare department.
“Only 6,000 of 1.36 lakh DSSS beneficiaries who were not found at home during the survey or received a letter from the department have to submit a life certificate,” Sawant told reporters.
He said under Grih Aadhar, there are around 73,000 beneficiaries and over 7,000 applications are pending. “Only those who have not submitted income certificates, migrated to other states and have not withdrawn money from their bank account for the last one year will have to submit a life certificate or income certificate,” he added.
The chief minister also urged the beneficiaries not to visit panchayat and mamlatdar offices to get a life certificate. He added that the department has given instruction not to emphasise on life and income certificates.
Every month, Rs 47crore are disbursed for over 2 lakh DSSS and Grih Aadhar beneficiaries.
