Stock market update: Nifty Bank index dips 2%; ICICI Bank slips nearly 3%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Bank index was trading with losses at 12:38PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of ICICI Bank (down 2.54 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 2.53 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 2.49 per cent), Federal Bank (down 2.04 per cent) and HDFC Bank (down 1.95 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While RBL Bank (up 0.8 per cent) was the sole gainer.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.99 per cent down at 24275.6 around 12:38PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 115.55 points at 11773.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 452.44 points at 40069.66.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of KPR Mill, Adani Green Energy Ltd., APL Apollo Tube, Berger Paints and Supreme Inds. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd., Shubhlaxmi Jewel Art Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., Uniinfo Telecom Services Ltd., GE Power India Ltd., SKIL Infrastructure Ltd., Maheshwari Logistics Ltd., Motor & General Finance Ltd., Lagnam Spintex Ltd. and Shrenik Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
