Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad presented a perfect birthday gift to their skipper David Warner on Tuesday when they scored a massive 88-run victory over Delhi Capitals to stay in contention for the play-offs in an IPL league match in Dubai. Sunrisers (10 points) have now moved up to sixth from seventh position with this win.
Warner led from the front with half-century off just 25 balls, hitting two sixes and eight fours. The swashbuckling Australian opener and Wriddhiman Saha (45-ball 87) collected77-runs in the first six overs. It was the best Power play figures of the season. Sunrisers posted a massive total before skittling DC for 131 in 19 overs. Leg spinner Rashid Khan returned with best IPL figures of 3/7. He bowled 17 dots. There was celebration in the SRH camp with teammates pasting the cake on their skipper’s face.
Later on Warner posted a video where he danced to the Butta Bomma song from Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Warner has been a great fan of Tollywood numbers and frequently posted the songs from various films during the lockdown phase.
Warner tweeted: A fantastic win today, proud of the lads. @manishpandeyinsta @vijay_41 simply amazing. Well crafted innings 👌👌 #orangearmy
