Dubbak assembly by-election: Rs 18.67 lakh seized from relatives of BJP candidate, activists create ruckus

By-elections are to be held for the Dububak assembly in Telangana. All the parties are busy in the preparation of the Dubbak Assembly Bypolls. According to the election schedule, the election in this constituency will be held on November 3 and the votes will be counted on November 10. Meanwhile, on Monday, the police seized Rs 18.67 lakh from the relatives of BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao.

Siddipet Police Commissioner Joel Davis said, 'We raided three places belonging to BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao from Dububak assembly seat on October 26. During this period, Rs 18.67 lakh was seized, out of which BJP workers snatched Rs 12 lakh and ran away.

Police said a ruckus erupted during a search at a place belonging to Raghunandan Rao, a candidate for the by-election for Dubbak assembly seat. Siddipet police say that '18.67 lakh rupees were seized, out of which BJP workers snatched more than 12 lakh rupees'.

Police also took custody of Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar after reaching Siddipet. BJP workers allege that all this is happening at the behest of the ruling party TRS, the police themselves brought the money in the bag and placed the money at the respective places to trap the BJP candidate.

Explain that this by-election is being held due to the death of Soilipeta Rama Linga Reddy of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the MLA from this region. Soilipeta Rama Linga Reddy defeated Congress candidate Mudula Nageswara Reddy by 62,500 votes in the 2018 elections. TRS got 54.36 percent votes with 89299 votes. Congress got 26,799 votes and BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao got 22,595 votes in this election.
