'Corona warriors' will be first to receive Covid-19 vaccine, says K’taka Health Minister

Health and Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar Tuesday said, "A technical committee comprising health experts, epidemiologists, technology partners, and logistical partners with the assistance of the Union Health Ministry will ensure that the vaccine reaches the nook and corner of the state."

Central and State governments are currently in the process of making an action plan to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine, whenever it arrives.

Explaining on the Karnataka government`s plan to distribute Covid-19 vaccine in the state once it is ready, Health and Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar Tuesday said, "A technical committee comprising health experts, epidemiologists, technology partners, and logistical partners with the assistance of the Union Health Ministry will ensure that the vaccine reaches the nook and corner of the state."

Further explaining the priority for vaccination planned by the state, he said `corona warriors` including doctors, nurses, paramedics, support staff, and healthcare workers would be the first beneficiaries in Karnataka followed by elderly citizens, patients with co-morbidities, and lactating mothers among others. "A final decision on this will be taken within a week," he said.
