As per the estimates on Monday in Delhi-NCR, there was a slight improvement in the wind, but in most cities remained in the very poor category. However, the best improvement was recorded in the air of Gurugram. The air quality index (AQI) here recorded 258 which was 317 on Sunday. The air quality index in Delhi rose by 4 points to 353 over the last 24 hours, while Faridabad recorded a 323 improvement with a gain of 27 points. Safar forecasts that there will be a slight improvement in wind speed on Tuesday, but the quality will remain at a very poor level for the next two days. If seasonal conditions improve, then the wind may improve.
Pollution may be cut by the CPCB's improved wind speed on Monday, but the morning humidity and cool winds did not let pollutants out of Delhi's atmosphere. Although the wind speed improved during the day, it did not significantly affect the quality.
Straw's smoke share reduced in 24 hours
The Parali model of Safar states that 1,275 cases of stubble burning have been reported in Punjab, Haryana, and neighboring areas on Sunday, but due to the weakening of the upper-level winds, the stubble smoke has declined. It increased to 16 percent on Monday as compared to 19 percent on Saturday.
