  • Mamelodi Sundowns have made several signings ahead of the new season as they look to retain the Premiership.
  • Coach Manqoba Mngqithi says that the process of giving the new players game time will be slow and gradual.
  • The Brazilians are back in action on Wednesday night against top-flight newbies TTM.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi believes the process of integrating the new players the club has signed will be gradual as the season shifts into second gear.

The Brazilians have brought in several big-name players throughout the course of the year and ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

Jody February, Grant Margeman, Lesedi Kapinga, Ricardo Goss, Haashim Domingo, Gift Motupa, Luvuyo Phewa, Peter Shalulile, Aubrey Modiba, Mothibi Mvala, Kermit Erasmus and George Maluleka are all new faces at Chloorkop.

Erasmus and Shalulile have already gotten on the scoresheet in the Brazilians 3-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs last weekend while Maluleka and Domingo also made their DStv Premiership debut for the club.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday ahead of Sundowns' match against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM), Mngqithi, along with coach Rulani Mokwena and senior coach Steve Komphela, says that they will introduce the new faces into the starting XI slowly but surely.

"We are trying our level best to integrate but we know that adaptation process takes a little bit longer. It's important for us that we don't rush. We'll bring them in one by one.

"The training attitude, the spirit, the atmosphere from all of them has been very good and that is really encouraging.

"We just have to find a way when we have consolidated our results to try and give them a chance one by one.

"Kermit has had a chance, Shalulile has had a chance, Domingo has had a chance but there are others who haven’t had their chance and we are hoping from time to time to build up to that."

Sundowns' match against TTM takes place on Wednesday evening.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
