Patna, Oct 27 ( UNI) Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA ) would form government in Bihar with three fourth majority under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Expressing confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Nitish Kumar and other constituent units of the NDA including Vikas Sheel Insan Party and Hindustani Awam Morcha, Mr Javadekar said that development and development-oriented politics are the only agenda of Mr Modi and the BJP.
He said that the political dimension of the country which was reeling under caste and religion based politics have now changed to development-based politics under the leadership of Mr Modi.
Speaking about the special package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore granted to Bihar by the Prime Minister, Mr Javadekar said that under the previous government all central allocations were pilfered whereas now these allocations were being spent on construction and on developmental activities.
Giving details of the expenditure of the package, Mr Javadekar said that Rs 50 lakh crore were spent on road construction in Bihar.
Terming the progress in taxes as remarkable, he said that it has increased to Rs 2,83,000 crore from Rs 1,36,000 crore in 2014.
He said that during the Covid-19 pandemic all those who used to earn their livelihood through daily wages and were dependent on everyday earning, were extended financial assistance and free cylinders provided to 80 lakh women during the period.
Apart from giving provident fund benefit to 23,7000 employees, Rs 2,000 was given to each of the 60 lakh farmers in advance and Rs 91,000 crore were is spent in extending financial assistance to a total number of 12 crore farmers, he informed and maintained that Mr Modi has empowered the poor and improved their quality of life by providing them facilities like house, lavatories, cooking gas connection, electricity connection, Health Insurance,better education and by enhancing their skill.
Mr Javadekar said that the Jan Dhan accounts benefited the poor people who were getting money transferred directly in their bank account without any middleman intervention.
