Hyderabad: Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Hyderabad, Anil Kumar, along with the officials of Hyderabad Roads Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) inspected the ongoing works of Begum Bazaar culvert on Tuesday.

He asked the HRDCL authorities to speed up the works and complete it by November 15. The works were started in July and since then, the arterial road is closed for the traffic and motorists are diverted onto the alternate routes.

However, due to the unprecedented rains and heavy traffic, the roads are damaged at many places resulting in heavy traffic jams regularly on Musalam Jung Bridge – M J Market road and Gowliguda stretch. The Begum Bazaar culvert works were necessitated following the inundation of the stretch due to narrow nala passage during heavy rains in the city.
