US Secretary of State and Defense Secretary meet NSA Ajit Doval

New Delhi, Oct. 27 (UNI) U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary Mark Esper who are in the Capital for the third edition of 2+2 ministerial dialogue met the National Security Advisor Mr Ajit Doval here on Tuesday and discussed a number of issues and challenges of strategic importance.

The U.S. leaders and the NSA highlighted the need to take forward shared objective and build capabilities across all domains so as to ensure a safe, stable and rule-based regional and global security environment, official sources said.

The meeting between the top U.S. leaders and Mr Doval comes amid continuing tension between Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh.

Sources described the meeting as ``very constructive.' Mr. Pompeo and Mr Esper are scheduled to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the afternoon.
