War against drugs: Haryana Police seizes 45800 prohibited tablets, two held

Chandigarh, Oct 27 (UNI) Continuing its war against the drugs mafia in the state, Haryana Police have seized 45,800 tablets that fall under the category of prohibited drug from the Karnal district and arrested two persons in this connection, an official spokesperson said here on Tuesday.
The spokesman informed that a team of Anti Narcotic Cell, after getting a secret input about huge quantities of prohibited drugs in a house, raided the location where the search of premises led to the seizure of a whopping 39,800 Tramadol tablets inside four boxes. The arrested accused was identified as Pargat Singh of Assandh.
During interrogation, the accused, identified as Pargat Singh of Assandh, revealed that he has been selling intoxicating tablets for some time.
He was later produced before the court and taken on remand. During the remand period, it was revealed that arrested accused had bought seized tablets from Anil, who was arrested from village Ardana along with 6000 Lomotil tablets.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against him and further probe is on.
