Covid-19 positive Agriculture Minister R Doraikkannu is ‘critical’

As per the medical bulletin issued by the hospital on Monday, State agriculture minister R Doraikkannu, who is being treated for Covid-19, is still critical.

The minister is on ECMO and life support and is being treated in isolation at the intensive care ward of Kauvery Hospital.

“Maintaining the functions of vital organs continues to be a challenge considering his comorbidities. He is on maximal life support and his response to treatment over the next 24 hours will determine the prognosis,” the bulletin said.

Bulletin which was released on Sunday said that the viral infection had invaded 90% of the minister’s lungs.
