SONIPAT: Former Haryana CM and leader of opposition, Bhupinder Singh Hooda has challenged the BJP for an open debate on development work. Hooda said while the Congress had a long list of development works done in Baroda and the entire state, the BJP does not have a single thing to seek votes on and stands completely exposed before the people of the state.
The former CM also attacked the government on the declining law and order situation in the state and said criminals think that they can get away with anything as the government is in deep slumber. Hooda was addressing several public meetings in village Shamdi, Chidana, Jawahara, Bhadothi, Durana, Mundlana, Sirsadh, Ramgarh and sought votes for Congress candidate Induraj Narwal in the Baroda bye-election.
The state president of Haryana Kashyap Rajput Sabha and INLD leader Jayabhagwan Kashyap also joined the Congress under the leadership of Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Addressing the public meetings, Hooda said due to the anti-people policies of the BJP, farmers are struggling to sell their crops at the minimum support price. The former chief minister said the farmer has to make huge investments and works very hard to feed the nation, but they are forced to sell their crops at a loss, which is pushing them into financial ruin.
On Tuesday, the former CM Hooda did not give speeches but got into a direct dialogue with the people of the area. He asked the farmers what price they are getting for their paddy, the farmers replied that they were getting only Rs 1,500 per quintal. When he asked what was the price they were getting during the Congress government, the farmers said they were getting Rs 5,000.
Looking at the horrific incidents in Faridabad and Panipat yesterday, it seems that there is no government in the state. Such incidents are less condemned. The government should take strict action against the culprits, without any delay, and take special steps to protect women,” he said.
