According to a bulletin released by the Health and Family Welfare Department of Tamil Nadu, 95,89,743 samples from the state have been sent for testing till date, with 72,236 samples having been sent yesterday.
Tamil Nadu reported 2708 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the state’s overall infection tally to 7,11,713.
The state also reported 32 virus related deaths, pushing the total death toll to 10,956. Twenty nine of them had succumbed due to comorbidities.
Chennai reported 747 positive cases, bringing the city’s total to 1,96,378.
As of Monday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu is 29,268. Till date, 4,29,594 males, 2,82,087 females and 32 transgenders have tested positive for the virus in the state.

The state discharged 4014 patients following treatment today, putting the total number of recoveries at 6,71,489.
