Lokesh alleges CM failed to get due funds from Centre for Polavaram project

Vijayawada, Oct 26 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party National General Secretary and former Minister Nara Lokesh on Monday accused the Y S Jaganmohan Reddy headed Government of harming the interests of AP farmers by failing to get the required Central funds for completion of the Polavaram lifeline irrigation project.
Mr. Lokesh said that while the previous Chandrababu Naidu regime convinced the Centre to approve Rs.55,448 crore for Polavaram project but the Jagan Reddy headed Government could get just Rs.20,000 crore to Rs 22,000 crore. The Chief Minister and his party's 23 MPs owed an explanation to the people of AP why the Centre cut down funds by over Rs 32,000 crore.
Mr. Nara Lokesh made a day-long tour to damage crops and flood-affected villages in Kaikaluru, Undi, Akividu, Siddhapuram and other places in Krishna and West Godavari districts.
Addressing media persons in Kaikaluru, Mr. Nara Lokesh advised the Chief Minister and his MPs to agitate and fight with the Centre for releasing sufficient funds for the Polavaram project. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had spent Rs.10 crore for his visits to Delhi by special flights but he got zero results and nil development for AP, he slammed.
Mr. Lokesh claimed that the TDP regime could complete 70 per cent works of the Polavaram project, but the Ysrcp led government has completed just 2 per cent works in the past 17 months.
