Vasco: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant laid the foundation stone for the construction of the proposed Mahalasa Narayani Primary and Secondary School building complex at Verna.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, former minister for environment and forest Rajendra Arlekar, director of archives and archeology Blossom Maderia, president of Mahalasa Narayani Charitable Trust and temple committee Kamalaksh Naik, trustee Devidas Saraf and other executive committee members of the temple committee were present on
the occasion.
The Chief Minister performed rituals while laying the foundation stone for the school building complex on the occasion of Dussehra celebration.
Sawant, PWD Minister Pauskar and Health Minister Rane were briefed about the school complex project by president of Mahalasa Narayani Charitable Trust and temple committee Naik.
The school presently runs classes up to seventh standard from pre-primary section at Shree Mahalasa Narayani temple premises at Mardol, Verna.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sawant performed ‘shastra pooja’ at Shree Mahalasa Narayani Temple premises at Mardol, Verna on the occasion of Dussehra celebration, in the presence of various dignitaries. He offered prayers to the Goddess Mahalasa Narayani.
