The BSE BANKEX Index has plunged 2% to 27,899.
Among the top losers in the BSE BANKEX Index today are ICICI BANK (down 3.3%), SBI (down 3.1%) and FEDERAL BANK (down 3.1%). Other losers include AXIS BANK (down 2.7%) and YES BANK (down 2.4%).
CITY UNION BANK (up 1.6%) and INDUSIND BANK (up 1.5%) are among the top gainers today.
In the meantime, the NIFTY BANK has plunged 2.0% to 24,577.
The top losers in the NIFTY BANK include CORPORATION BANK (down 4.4%), IDBI BANK (down 3.3%) and ANDHRA BANK (down 3.2%). Other losers include IDFC FIRST BANK (down 3.2%) and ICICI BANK (down 3.2%).
Over the last one year, the BSE BANKEX Index has moved down from 33,248 to 27,899, registering a loss of 5,349 points (down 16.1%).
The top losers among the BSE BANKEX during this same period were YES BANK (down 74.8%), INDUSIND BANK (down 54.0%) and RBL BANK (down 39.0%).
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex has plunged 1.2% to 40,724.
Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are NESTLE (up 2.1%), INDUSIND BANK (up 1.5%) and HUL (up 1.0%). Other gainers include POWER GRID (up 1.0%) and L&T (up 1.0%).
The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are POWER GRID and INDUSIND BANK.
In the meantime, the NSE Nifty is at 11,943 (down 1.3%).
