IPL 2020: Kings XI restrict KKR at 149/9

Sharjah, Oct 26 (UNI) Shubman Gill half century 57 off 45, skipper Eoin Morgan 40 and duo 81 run stand for fourth wicket helped KKR post a fighting 149/9 in 20 overs against Punjab in the 46th match of the IPL 2020 match, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, here on Monday.

Gill was the top scorer 57 off 45 (3 fours, 4 sixes) followed by Morgan 40 off 25 (5 fours, 2 sixes) while others failed to reach double digit and late cameo from Ferguson 24 off 13 (3 fours, 1 six) remained not out along with Prasidh.

Earlier, Kings XI won the toss and and opted to bowl against KKR.

KKR top batsman failed to click with opener Nitish Rana going early in very first over bowled by Maxwell for a duck.

In the next over Rahul Tripathi 7 off 4 balls with 1 six, and Dinesh Karthik for a duck Shami picking back to back wickets.

KKR three wickets fell inside 10 runs. After that it was skipper Morgan and Shubman's heroics taking KKR to 81 run partnerships for fourth wicket as both striked well hitting Punjab bowlers for boundaries.

But duo stand was broken by Ravi Bishnoi scalping Morgan at 40 off 25 balls (5 fours, 2 sixes) in 10th over. Then fifth wicket fell in form of Sunil Narine at 6 claimed by Jordan in 11th over.

The 6th wicket was of Nagarkoti at 6 bowled by Ashwin in 15th over and 7th in form of Pat Cummins 1 picked by Bishnoi his second wicket in 16th over.

Ferguson and Gill further put 22 runs stand for 8th wicket, but then Gill was the third victim of Shami in 18.3 over.

Gill's innings ended 57 off 45 (3 fours, 4 sixes). In last over second last ball Jordan calimed his second wicket in form of Varun at 2.

Ferguson 24 and Prasidh remained not out.

For Kings XI, Shami picked 3/35, Bishnoi 2/20, Jordan 2/25 and Maxwell 1/21.
