Haryana Police seize 53400 intoxicating tablets

Chandigarh, Oct 26 (UNI) In separate incidents, Haryana Police have seized 53,400 banned medicines and arrested six people who were in possession of the drugs in Fatehabad and Sirsa districts.

Giving this information here Monday, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that in Fatehabad, a police team signaled an Alto car to stop for checking at a naka.
The search of vehicle led to seizure of 39960 tablets which fell under the category of prohibited drugs. Arrested accused were identified as Dilbagh Singh and Beant Singh, both hailing from Assandh.

In another case, police have arrested two suspects identified as Naresh Kumar and Pawan, after it recovered 640 banned tablets from them.
Cracking down on drug peddlers in Sirsa district, police teams have seized 12800 prohibited tablets and arrested two people in this connection. While one accused was held with 10000 tablets, another suspect was apprehended with 2800 tablets.
All accused were booked under relevant sections of NDPS Act and efforts were on to nab others involved in this racket of drug peddling. Further investigation is underway.
