National Health Authority (NHA) has named winners of the AYUSHMAN BHARAT STARTUP GRAND CHALLENGE and awarded 7 startups for creating innovative solutions to address implementation challenges faced by Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY)!
The initiative was launched by National Health Authority in in collaboration with BIRAC and Startup India to discover the most innovative solutions, build progressive technology and support over 500 million people with affordable healthcare via effective implementation of AB PM-JAY.
NHA called in for entries and received an amazing response with over 320 startups from varying sectors such as Medical Devices, Digital Health, Health Communications, Hospital services and Hospital Management, Medical workforce training and capacity building participating in the program.
The participants were evaluated in the following 7 categories by a “Grand Jury” comprising of India’s eminent industry leaders. The categories are:
1.Ensuring Quality of Care
2.Strengthening Fraud and Abuse control
3.Maximizing pre and post- treatment engagement
4.Increasing Beneficiary Awareness
5.Maximizing capacity of health workforce
6.Reducing cost of services at the point of care
7.Enhancing the quality and security of data
Of the 320 entries for 7 categories, 7 winners were recognized for their innovative technologies. NHA’s newly launched Market Access Program (MAP), an initiative that accelerates adoption of innovations for AB PM-JAY via validation pilots, procurement support, business intelligence and mentorship services will provide 360° scale up support to all winners.

Winner: OnionDev Technologies (Gram Vaani) (Founders: Aaditeshwar Seth and Vijay Sai Pratap)
5. Maximizing capacity of health workforce
Winner: HealthCloudAILabs (Founder: Nitesh Shroff and Preeti Bhargava)
6. Reducing cost of services at the point of care
Winner: Incredible Devices Pvt. Ltd, (Founders: Vikram Goel and Rajwinder Kaur)
7. Enhancing the quality and security of data
Winner: Universal Mednet Pvt. Ltd (Founders: Rohit Raheja)
Rohit Raheja, Director of Universal Mednet, said, “Ayushman Bharat Startup Grand Challenge was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our innovation and winning the challenge has been a dream come true! It has made our resolve to work at improving our healthcare system stronger. Our technology UniMediLocker is a personal digital health record system that is easy to use/access. It helps hospitals to standardize and digitize data; patients to access to share with doctors via a mobile app, doctors to understand patient medical history at one glance and diagnose more effectively; and the health insurance industry to fasten their claim settlement procedures.”
