290 new COVID cases reported in state

Panaji: Recoveries continue to outnumber the fresh COVID-19 cases as 343 patients recovered from the disease while 290 new COVID cases were reported on Monday.

With this new cases and recoveries, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 42,532 of which 2,517 are active cases while 39,433 patients have defeated the deadly virus.

According to the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), current active positive cases in the jurisdictions of urban health centres are as follows: Margao – 227 cases, Vasco – 129 cases, Panaji – 119 cases and Mapusa – 91 cases.

And, the active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres stand as follows: – Sankhali -85 cases, Bicholim -79 cases, Pernem -68 cases, Valpoi -60 cases, Curchorem – 33 cases and Canacona – 58 cases.

Whereas the active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres are as follows: Aldona – 44 cases, Betki -29 cases, Candolim -112 cases, Cansarvanem -17 cases, Colvale – 55 cases, Corlim – 83 cases, Chimbel -152 cases, Siolim – 86 cases, Porvorim -180 cases, Mayem – 25 cases,  Balli – 51 cases, Cansaulim – 42 cases, Chinchinim – 28 cases, Cortalim – 88 cases, Curtorim – 97 cases, Loutolim -51 cases, Marcaim – 62 cases, Quepem -52 cases, Sanguem – 40 cases, Shiroda -35 cases, Dharbandora – 41 cases, Ponda -143 cases and Navelim – 54 cases.

6 more lose COVID battle

Panaji: Coronavirus claimed six more lives in Goa on Monday, taking the death count to 582 in the state.

As per the mortality bulletin, four of the six patients expired in the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim while the remaining two patients were brought dead to the Hospicio Hospital,  Margao and tested positive for the virus post-mortem.  

The new deaths due to the virus, registered on Monday, include a 68-year-old man from Margao, a 58-year-old man from Mapusa, a 58-year-old man from Mapusa, a 56-year-old woman from Mapusa, a 52-year-old man from Benaulim and a 64-year-old woman from Fatorda.
