Congress, BJP political campaigns for by-poll begin

Imphal, Oct 26 (UNI) The BJP and the Congress parties have launched election campaigns for the by-poll.
All the bypolls had to be done following the resignation of Congress MLAs and joining the BJP. Chief Minister, N Biren Singh held a series of meetings at the CM Secretariat to fight for the victory of BJP Candidates in the four Assembly segments where by-poll will be held on Nov 7 next. A BJP candidate Ginsuanhau Zou of Singhat had already won uncontest.
Flag hoisting ceremony of O Lukhoi, BJP Minister and Salam Joy of Congress was done at Wangoi today. Chief Minister Biren said a public the meeting was also held at Khekman Jilla Keithel, Lilong AC in Thoubal District and the party will support former MLA Abdul Nasir.
Attending the flag hoisting function of BJP at Wangoi he said the party stands for unity in diversity and religious secularism. Every community residing in the State have the same ancestors and we are all
brothers and sisters. Let us vote for unity and development he said.
He appreciated the people of Wangoi AC for their firm belief in BJP and the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and consolidating the position of Lukhoi Singh as the leader of their constituency. Dilip

Whip of Congress Legislative Party Govindas Konthoujam said that the Indian National Congress stood for democracy to save Manipur and to save India. Congress put up the most reliable and people-friendly candidate Salam Joy Singh for the bye-poll of Wangoi Assembly Constituency. He said, “We’ll help him. We’ll stand for him. I appeal to everyone to support him and cast your valuable vote to Salam Joy who will work for you and the welfare of the constituency.”
Govindas said, “Don’t judge a candidate based on bribery. You can accept the bribe given by other parties, but to save our country, our state Manipur and democracy, we must give support to INC candidate.”
For the four seats in Wangoi former Congress MLA, Oinam Lukhoi Singh now a BJP Candidate will fight against Salam Joy Singh of Indian National Congress and Khuraijam Loken Singh of National People's Party (NPP).
Lilong has three candidates. Md Azizul Haque Khan of Indian National Congress (INC) will fight against former Congress MLA, Mohd Abdul Nasir, Y. Antas Khan. Former Congress MLA and now BJP candidate Ngamthang Haokip will fight against Lamtinthang Haokip of Indian National Congress (INC) in Saitu.
In Wangjing Tentha, Moirangthem Hemanta Singh of Indian National Congress (INC) will contest against S. Manaobi, Independent and former Congress MLA Paonam Brojen Singh now a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate.
