Analytics vendor Qlik has acquired integration and orchestration platform provider Blendr.io.

Blendr.io is a scalable and secure embedded integration and automation platform (iPaaS) that works with more than 500 SaaS applications and cloud data sources.

Its real-time integration and automation capabilities include a connectivity layer for integration with cloud platforms and more than 500 SaaS applications, a low-code integration layer that can apply business logic to combining data from different sources, a UI and embedding layer to incorporate integrations in the UI of cloud platforms and applications, and a centralised management layer.

"Modern data and analytics solutions like Qlik are delivering Active Intelligence, where technology and processes enable the continuous use of real-time data to automate action and enable timely decision making," said Qlik CEO Mike Capone.

"Blendr.io's extensive iPaaS solution will further expand the ability of Qlik's end-to-end platform to help customers more easily and seamlessly integrate data and automate processes across every decision throughout the organisation."

Qlik will take advantage of Blendr.io to help customers make even better use of analytics by incorporating data from more than 500 SaaS applications.

The acquisition will also expand the Qlik ecosystem by helping ISVs and SaaS providers integrate the data stored in their systems with that from other applications.

Customer organisations can use it in various ways, including automatically feeding AI engines and platforms with data from hundreds of cloud application data sources.

Blendr.io staff have joined Qlik, and the platform will remain available to new SaaS solution partners.

Qlik expects to include Blendr.io technologies in its cloud-first data and analytics platforms starting in 2021.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Now’s the Time for 400G Migration

The optical fibre community is anxiously awaiting the benefits that 400G capacity per wavelength will bring to existing and future fibre optic networks.

Nearly every business wants to leverage the latest in digital offerings to remain competitive in their respective markets and to provide support for fast and ever-increasing demands for data capacity. 400G is the answer.

Initial challenges are associated with supporting such project and upgrades to fulfil the promise of higher-capacity transport.

The foundation of optical networking infrastructure includes coherent optical transceivers and digital signal processing (DSP), mux/demux, ROADM, and optical amplifiers, all of which must be able to support 400G capacity.

With today’s proprietary power-hungry and high cost transceivers and DSP, how is migration to 400G networks going to be a viable option?

PacketLight's next-generation standardised solutions may be the answer. Click below to read the full article.
