The CBI has registered a case against a junior artist who worked in a TV serial for running an international racket selling 'child porn'. The accused had contacted more than a thousand users from the US, Europe, and South Asian countries, whose age is between 10 and 16 years, on Instagram. The accused used to implicate the children by calling themselves movie stars and demanded porn videos and pictures from them.

The CBI recently searched the house of the accused, from where his phone and laptop were confiscated. After forensic investigation of both, he found objectionable videos of children, which he used to send to his international clients through WhatsApp and other platforms. According to the CBI, the accused is originally from Haridwar.
He used to chat with the children by taking a WhatsApp number and asking them to do obscene acts on video calls. If a victim refuses to do so or does not talk to him, he would threaten to send videos and photos to his family. The investigating agency has registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Poxo and Information Technology Act.
