Unable to bear harassment, two women end lives in Asifabad

In the first incident, Swati, a divorcee of Patharlaguda area in Sirpur (T) mandal centre, resorted to take the extreme step as she was unable to bear the alleged harassment of a person who was stalking her to marry him.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: In two different incidents, two women died by suicide by consuming pesticide in the district on Sunday.

In the first incident, Swati, a divorcee of Patharlaguda area in Sirpur (T) mandal centre, resorted to take the extreme step as she was unable to bear the alleged harassment of a person who was stalking her to marry him. She died while undergoing treatment at a hospital on Monday. She was staying with her parents after she parted ways with her husband three years ago.

In the second incident, Lendugure Vimala (38), wife of Bheemarao and a native of Kothaguda village in Bejjur mandal, decided to take her life following the harassment by her husband on Sunday night. She died while undergoing at a hospital on Monday. Based on a complaint received by her mother, a case was registered against her husband Bheemrao, Sub-Inspector D Sagar said.
