Mapusa: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant along with Deputy Chief Minister Manohar ‘Babu’ Ajgaonkar and Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte, on Sunday, felicitated Pernem PI Jivba Dalvi and his staff for crackdown on drugs wherein drugs worth Rs 1.08 crore were seized recently.
On Sunday, the Chief Minister Sawant visited Pernem police station along with Deputy Chief Minister Ajgaonkar and Mandrem MLA Sopte wherein they planted coconut saplings in the premises of the police station with an aim of taking forward the ‘green’ initiative of the state government.
Later the Chief Minister felicitated the Pernem police team led by PI Jivba Dalvi.
Sawant lauded the effort of the police staff and PI Dalvi towards making the coastal taluka drugs-free and further asked the police to continue with their crackdown on drug activities.
PI Dalvi said that such motivation is always welcomed and that action against drug activities would continue.
