Margao : The kingpin of a spurious liquor racket apprehended by Colva police and handed over to Andhra Pradesh police team which visited Margao was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Margao on Saturday evening and a one-day remand was taken.
Police said that M Maarirajan (56) a native of Tamil Nadu presently residing at Pedda, Benaulim and wanted by the Andhra Pradesh police was taken to Andhra Pradesh on Saturday night.
The alleged kingpin of a racket involved in transporting spurious liquor for selling to the general public at high rates in Andhra Pradesh was residing at Benaulim.
He was apprehended and later handed over to Andhra Pradesh police team. Sources in the police said that he was residing in Benaulim for the last one year and is an ex-serviceman.
