"The Station House Officer (SHO) of Reengus police station is probing the case after a case was registered against an unidentified person under IT Act," said Rajesh Arya, CO Sikar rural.

An unidentified person hacked into the servers of four schools “to teach them a lesson”, allegedly, for harassing poor parents of students studying under the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

The hacker issued Transfer Certificates (TCs) to at least 130 students in Sikar district.

However, the man has also written a letter to Sikar Superintendent of Police (SP) confessing to the criminal act and said the schools in question were harassing the parents over the fee.

“It was reported in the newspaper that the government will pay the fee installment of children admitted under RTE act in 15 days and tax was also paid. Despite this, the families of these poor children are being harassed by the school authorities to deposit fees. So, I decided to teach them a lesson," a news report quoted from the letter.

Identifying himself as the `common man`, the hacker said he is a retired government official and lives in Palsana town. He said he had issued the TCs of three schools in Palsana and one in Khatu.

"My suggestion is that the government should deposit the money directly into the child’s account so that the parents don’t suffer. I know what I did was not right and I am sorry about this. Please do not get the matter investigated or my pension will be discontinued," wrote the accused in the latter.

Meanwhile, police have filed a case under the Information Technology Act and initiated a probe into the matter.

"The Station House Officer (SHO) of Reengus police station is probing the case after a case was registered against an unidentified person under IT Act," said Rajesh Arya, CO Sikar rural.
