Six dies of Covid, total figure touch 17,022

Imphal, Oct 24 (UNI) Six persons died of Covid while in the past twenty-four hours, 233 persons (128M, 105F) from the general population and 12 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.

The positive cases were from JNIMS (14), RIMS (31), Imphal West (51) Churachandpur (6), Bishnupur (5), Imphal Hospital (1), IRL (1), Escent Diagnostics (1), Kakching (5), Raj Medicity (10), Imphal East (9), RD Wing (1), Tengnoupal (1), Thoubal (34), Shija Hospital (12), CMC (1), Hillside (1), Tamenglong (31), Mother’s Care (1), Advance Hospital (2), Samaritan Hospital (1), Babina Diagnostics (12), Chandel (6), Senapati (5) and Jivan Hospital (3).

The positive cases from the general population were from Imphal West (91), Imphal East (31), Thoubal (38), Chandel (7), Kakching (8), Kangpokpi (1), Tamenglong (32). Churachandpur (8), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (5), Noney (3) and Bishnupur (8). All were without any significant travel history.

In the last 24 hours, six persons aged 79 yrs (female, Imphal East),

53 yrs (male, Imphal West), 72 yrs (female, Imphal East), 75 yrs

(female, Imphal East), 82 yrs (male, Imphal West) and 46 yrs (male,

Kangpokpi) expired at RIMS, Shija Hospital and four at JNIMS

respectively. The cumulative number of deaths was 138.

The total number of discharged persons was 157. They were from CAPF (8), Home Isolation (12), RIMS (5), JNIMS (15), Sadhbhavna (6), Lanva (5), PR Kakching (3), TK Ukhrul (1), Tamenglong (1), UNACCO (19), LKK (50), Lamding (16), Bal Bhavan (6), Thoubal (4) and Senapati (6).

The cumulative number of positive cases was 17,022(General Population — 14,316 and Central Security Personnel — 2,706). The cumulative number of recovered cases was 12,719 (General Population — 10,321 and Central Security Personnel —2,398). The number of active cases was 4,165 (General Population — 3,861 and Central Security Personnel -304). The recovery rate was 74.72 % said Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Spokesperson Health Department, Manipur.
