Eight TN districts get new collectors

CHENNAI: In the first major reshuffle of IAS officers in the run up to the assembly election, the Tamil Nadu government on Saturday posted new collectors to eight districts. An order to this effect was issued by chief secretary K Shanmugam.
Kancheepuram collector P Ponniah and Tiruvallur collector Mageswari Ravikumar exchanged posts.
M Aravind has been posted as Kanyakumari collector in place of Prashant M Wadanere, who has been appointed as Tangedco and Tantransco joint managing director.
V Santha has been posted as Tiruvarur collector replacing T Anand, who has been posted as joint secretary in agriculture department. P Sri Venkata Priya is the new Perambalur collector.
T Anbalagan has been posted as Madurai collector in place of T G Vinay, who has been posted as director of sericulture, Salem. S Malarvazhi has become Karur collector, while S P Karthikaa has been posted as Dharmapuri collector.
Apurva Varma has been posted as additional chief secretary, youth welfare and sports development department. P Shankar has been posted as inspector general of registration and will continue to hold the post of director of information and public relations and managing director of TN Arasu Cable TV Corporation in full additional charge.
B Jothi Nirmalasamy has been posted as managing director of Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women Limited.
L Nirmal Raj becomes chairman of Teachers Recruitment Board while B Ganesan has been posted as director of Town and Country Planning. TN Health System Project director Ajay Yadav and health and family welfare joint secretary A Sivagnanam exchanged posts.
T Christuraj has been posted as vice-chairman and chief executive officer of Tamil Nadu Maritime Board while R Brindha Devi has become managing director of Tamil Nadu Magnesite Limited. Sravan Kumar Jatavath has been posted as joint managing director of TWAD Board.
