Dr Abdullah visits Durga Nag mandir on Mahanavmi

Srinagar, Oct 24 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) Dr Farooq Abdullah on Saturday took time off from his busy political engagement and visited the Durga Nag Mandir (temple), Dagate in Srinagar on the occasion of Mahanavmi to pay obeisance.

It was surprising for everyone present in the Mandir when Dr Abdullah arrived there and greeted devotees and pujari on the occasion.

He was seen praying for peace in the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir alongwith other devotees, surrounded by security force personnel in the mandir premises.

After centre abrogated Article 370 and 35 A and put Dr Abdullah under detention on August 5, 2019, he (Abdullah) was trolled by people, particularly in the Kashmir valley, for singing hindu devotional songs. Some of the people said Dr Abdullah deserve it for singing patriotic and hindu devotional songs.

Ignoring all criticism, Dr Abdullah visited the Mandir and paid obeisance besides meeting pujari and other devotees.

Dr Abdullah and his son and former CM Omar Abdullah in a tweet have greeted people on the occasion of Mahanavmi.

The NC president attended meeting with party leaders from Jammu and also attend Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) at Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti’s residence Saturday.
