Telangana: Son beheads mother, walks away with her head

HYDERABAD: A man beheaded his 65-year-old mother in their Kollapur residence, after she reportedly refused to give him money to buy liquor in Nagarkurnool district on Friday night. The accused walked away with his mother’s head after committing the murder.
The shocking incident came to light on Saturday morning after the deceased P Chandramma’s other family members saw her torso.
Chandramma has two sons - P Ramudu and P Kurumurthy. She and her younger son Ramudu, a labour, reside in the front portion of their house whereas her elder son Kurumurthy and his family stays on the rear side of their house.
At 7 am on Saturday since Chandramma was not seen, Kurumurthy came to the front portion in search of her and entered the house. To his shock, he found his mother's torso amid a pool of blood where as her head was missing from the spot.
Immediately, police were alerted about the murder and during the inquiry of her family members police realized that Ramudu was missing.
When police started to search for her missing head, they finally found it inside bushes at a water body, which is located close to her house.
``Ramudu is an alcoholic. He deserted his wife a long time ago and since then he has been staying along with his mother. He is known for creating nuisance and harassing her seeking money. We suspect that Chandramma might have been killed by Ramudu after she refused to give him money for purchase of alcohol,’’ Kollapur Inspector B Venkat Reddy said.
Ramudu, who is a labour, used sickle to behead his mother. The sickle was recovered by police from the scene of offence.
Though police claimed that the accused is at large, it is learnt that Ramudu was taken into custody by police.
It is learnt that the at the time of murder, the accused was already in drunken condition. A case was registered by police under section 302 (murder) of IPC.
