Four including 2 women die,3 critically injured in Kolhapur accident

Kolhapur, Oct 23 (UNI) Four members of a family including two women died while three were seriously injured in an collision between state transport bus and a car, which occurred near Kalambe village on Kolhapur-Gaganbavda national highway Friday afternoon.

According to Karveer police, seven members of Malve family, president at Vikramnagar, a suburb of the city, were on way to Kale village in Panhala tehsil of this district, to attend a funeral rites of their relative. Near Kalambe village, a state transport bus of Kankavli depot, which was on way to Kolhapur, collided head-on with Invoa car.

In this incident, three people were killed on the spot and four were seriously injured. The injured were rushed to Chhatrapati Pramila Raje hospital for medical treatment, where one more member died during treatment.

The collision was so severe that car's forefront was totally crushed as it barged under the bus.

Police identified the deceased as Karan Deepak Malve(27), Sanjay Dinkar Malve(44), Akkatai Malve(65) and Puja Malve, all residents of Vikramnagar.

Police is investigating further.
