K'taka reports 5356 fresh nCoV cases, 51 deaths

Bengaluru, Oct 23 (UNI) Karnataka detected as many as 5356 new cases of the COVID-19, taking the total number of corona virus cases to 793907 in the state on Friday.
besides, total 51 more patients died of COVID, raising the death toll to 10821 so far, according to official sources.
The Bengaluru Urban district recorded a highest 2688 fresh cases of COVID-19 cases, followed by, Ballari 115, Belagavi 80, Bengaluru Rural 152, Bagalakote 17, Chamarajanagara 40, Chikkaballapura 108, Chikkamagaluru 102, Chitradurga 99, Dakshinakannada 329, Davanagere 298, Dharwada 92, Gadag 12, Hassana 109, Haveri 32, Kalaburagi 62, Kodagu 37, Kolara 47, Koppala 27, Mandya 168, Mysuru 220, Raichuru 70, Ramanagara 11, Shivamogga 47, Tumakuru 100, Udupi 50, Uttara Kannada 113, Vijayapura 92 and Yadagiri district 36 and Bidar 03.
The number of COVID-19 patients who had cured and discharged from the various hospitals in the last 24-hours accounts for 8749.
In the last 24-hour, sources said, as many as 108536 persons had undergone COVID-19 tests including that of 21615 of the Rapid Antigen Detection Tests.
While the positivity rate for the day stood at 4.94 per cent, the fatality rate for the disease is at 0.95 per cent, the sources added.
