Chennai, Oct 23 (UNI) In a major fillip to the industrial development amid the
COVID-19 pandemic, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami
today launched commercial operations of nine firms and laid the foundation
stone for nine new projects, involving a total investment of Rs 11,360.20 crore
and offering 16,545 jobs.
An official release here said the seven projects which launched commercial
operations were :
--Wheels India manufacturing facility (Rs 500 crore investmnet, 1800 jobs),
--Finland's Salcomp mobile accessories unit part of reviving Nokia factory
(Rs 500 crore, 5,600 jobs)
--Phase-1 of Dindigul Renewal Energy Private Limited by Kalpathi AGS Group
(Rs 70 crore, 150 jobs),
--Power Gear's electric parts manufacturing facility (Rs 37 crore, 90 jobs),
--Mudhra Fine Blan c's motor vehicle spare parts unit (Rs 12.7 crore, 100 jobs),
--Nash Industries India Limited's motor vehicle spare part sunit (56.5 crore, 100 jobs)
--BBL Daido's Shell bearings and bushings making unit IRs 22 crore, 39 jobs).
The nine projects for which foundation stone was laid were :
--Hyundai Motor Training Centre (Rs 150 crore),
--Vikram Solar's dolar Module/Cell manufacturing facility (Rs 5,512 crore, 4,738 jobs)
--Integrated Chennai Business Park's Logistics Park (Rs 1,000 cr, 1100 jobs),
--Phase-2 of Dindigul Renewal Energy Private Limited by Kalpathi AGS Group
(Rs 300 crore, 500 jobs),
--Shreevari Energy Systems' windmill and thermal power proejct (Rs 250 crore, 228 jobs)
--Chennai SSSS Equipments' Earth breaking equipments manufacturing facility
(Rs 50 crore, 400 jobs),
--Adani's City Gas distribution scheme in four districts (Rs 2,000 crore, 1000 jobs),
--Philips Carbon Black's project (Rs 600 crore, 300 jobs),
--Aquasub Engineering's pumps making unit (Rs 200 crore, 400 jobs).
