Man who offered gigolo job using fake website arrested in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old man who used to run a fake website offering people job of gigolo landed in police custody on Wednesday. He lured victims into making hefty payments online and had earned more than Rs 23 lakh through his website.
The accused has been identified as Ankit Kumar, a resident of Uttam Nagar. He belongs to Khagaria in Bihar.
The cheating came to light when a resident of Uttam Nagar, Rakesh Kumar, approached police alleging that he had been defrauded of Rs 11,000 in the name of joining a gigolo club. He said that he came across a website- https://gigolojobindia01.wixsite.com/mysite- where people were invited to join the club. When he dialled a number mentioned on the website, he was asked to transfer the money online and then meet the recruiting team in Janakpuri. After he paid the amount, he found out that his phone number was blocked by the crooks.
DCP (West) Deepak Purohit said a case was registered by the cyber team of the Janakpuri police station to probe the forgery. "On the basis of technical surveillance and secret information, the user of the website was identified and he was arrested on Tuesday. Three mobile phones used by him to call the victims were also seized," he said.
