Bihar Assembly Election 2020 Live Updates: UPA Wasted 10 Years Of Nitish Kumar, Didn't Let Him Work, Says PM Modi

Bihar will vote in three phases on October 28, November 3 and 7 for a new government.

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing his first rally in Bihar for the election starting next week, said if Bihar's Nitish Kumar government had not acted fast, there would have been many more coronavirus deaths and "unimaginable mayhem".

"If Bihar had not acted fast, the pandemic would have killed many, many more. It would have been unimaginable mayhem. But today Bihar, having battled Covid, is now celebrating the festival of democracy," he said at a joint rally in Sasaram with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

He also attacked the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), saying before the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Bihar had suffered crime and corruption.

Congress parliamentarian Rahul Gandhi is also set to hit the ground for the three-phase elections which begin next Wednesday. He will address two rallies at Hisua in Nawada and Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district.

Bihar will vote in three phases on October 28, November 3 and 7 for a new government and the results will be announced on November 10.

I want to congratulate the people of Bihar, as they have announced their decision well in advance. All the surveys which are done suggest that an NDA government will be formed in the state once again. Some people try to spread rumours at times and suggest that some "new power" is emerging, but people of Bihar are not going to be befooled by such acts.

Hope the Prime Minister will tell the people of Bihar today that in areas like education, health, jobs, employment, agriculture, industry, why Bihar is at the lowest level of national average despite the JDU-BJP government for 15 years? What did the state, that gave 39 out of 40 MPs to the NDA, get in return except unemployment?
