NEW BEDFORD — The New Bedford Whaling Museum is offering free admission to Westport and Dartmouth residents. Free passes are now available at the Southworth Library in South Dartmouth and the Westport Free Public Library in Westport. Passes can be requested by calling either library, and must be presented at the Whaling Museum reception desk for admission. Free passes are limited in number and will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis; limit of four per family. This special offer is made possible by the Dartmouth and Westport Cultural Councils, local agencies supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

The museum is also offering half off the price of admission through the end of 2020 to people who live in New Bedford. New Bedford residents who show proof of residency at the Museum’s reception desk will receive the 50 percent discount.

The Whaling Museum is located at 18 Johnny Cake Hill, in New Bedford and is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.to 4 p.m.

Timed-entry tickets, exhibition information, and information on planning a visit to the Whaling Museum is available at www.whalingmuseum.org or by calling 508-997-0046. Masks are required for entry.
