Vigilance team from Bareilly arrested Babu Manoj Saxena of Agriculture Department after taking a bribe of 12 thousand rupees while Ikra B, who became the District Magistrate for a day, took the chair in the Collectorate on Thursday.
The Vigilance team has to take permission from the DM as per rules. In this case, the documents of permission to Vigilance were signed by DM Anjaney Kumar Singh but got verbal permission from Iqra Bi.
DM District Magistrate Anjaney Kumar Singh said, "I had given written permission only, but at that time, Iqra B, the district topper of class XII in UP board was on the chair of DM, so the credit of holding the bribery case goes to Iqra's account.
