Sharp Rises in Bihar's GDP Under Nitish Govt: Sitharaman | Nirmala Sitharaman appeals to all the people of the state to vote for NDA and make it win. Nitish Kumar will be the Chief Minister of Bihar for the next five years. Under his rule, Bihar will become a progressive and developed state of India. GDP in Bihar has seen a sharp rise under NDA rule, it has grown from 3% to 11.3% in the state in the last 15 years of NDA govt and not during the 15 years of 'jungle raj'. It was made possible because our govt gave priority to good governance for people. As soon as Covid-19 vaccine will be available for production at a mass scale, every person in Bihar will get free vaccination. Bihar govt has spent only 60% of the budget. Be it floods or Corona, Nitish Kumar turned away from people of Bihar. Now during election time, on what basis is he going amongst them and asking for votes. All he has done is get everyone beaten with a stick. It's not important for us who comes from which state with what issues. Nitish Kumar has forgotten that Bihar's financial budget is Rs 2,11,761 crore, 40% of which his government was unable to spend due to its wavering, irresponsible, corrupt and poor policies. And finally Rs 80,000 crore rupees have been surrendered every year due to failures. Why would an efficient government surrender about 40% of the budget amount every year?: Leader of the Oppositon, Tejashwi Yadav.

Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted achievements of the Centre and the Bihar government and appealed to the people to return NDA to power so that more development could be done. Pradhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that whatever plans are formulated for the country, the eastern region should get primacy. Be it schemes in the field of agriculture, education, health, industry or giving home to the poor, people of the eastern region have benefited the most, he said.

The report also observed that the average assets per candidate contesting in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 in Phase I is Rs 1.99 Crores.

EC Panel to Revise Expenditure Limit for Candidates Contesting LS, Assembly Polls | The Election Commission has set up a committee to examine the issue of revising the expenditure limit for candidates for Lok Sabha and assembly polls in view of the increase in number of electors and rise in Cost Inflation Index. Expenditure limit for candidates was last revised in 2014. For Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the limit was enhanced in 2018.  The committee comprising former DG Investigations Harish Kumar and EC Secretary General Umesh Sinha will assess the change in number of electors across the states and union territories and its bearing on expenditure.
