Patna, Oct 22 (UNI) An estimated 16.51 per cent voters exercised their franchise till noon in the
biennial elections of Bihar Legislative Council for four graduate constituencies while 25.41 % electorate caste their votes for four teacher's constituencies so far in the state.
Polling for the biennial elections to the four seats of Graduate constituency and an equal number of Teachers' constituency of Bihar Legislative Council was underway amid tight security arrangements.
Giving details of the voting percentage till noon sources at the election office said here today that the voting percentage in Patna graduate constituency was recorded at 16 per cent, in Darbhanga it was found at 15.4 per cent, in Tirhut 14.64 per cent and in Kosi 20 per cent.
Similarly Patna teachers constituency recorded 26% voting, Darbhanga 17.2 7%, Tirhut 21.3 1% and Saran 37.0 5%.
The voters were exercising their franchise at 633 polling booths for graduate constituencies and at 340 polling booths for teachers constituency.
Social distancing was being maintained and sanitizers, masks and gloves were being used at every polling booth. The voters were turning up to exercise their franchise but they were also scared of spread of coronavirus.
