Mah: Lightning struck; 25 hurt in Thane district

Thane, Oct 22 (UNI) At least 25 villagers were injured when lightning struck them at Palaspada in Umbermali village in Thane district, the authorities said on Thursday.

The Chief of the RDMC, of Santosh Kadam, said, following heavy rain on Wednesday around 1900 hrs, lightning struck at a residential locality damaging surrounding houses.

The occupants of the nearby houses including women and children were injured due to the impact of the lightning and were rushed to the Sahapur Rural hospital and are being treated and are out of danger.



Meanwhile, the local MLA Daulat Daroda rushed to the hospital and enquired the injured.

Heavy rains accompanied by severe thunders was continued till this morning.
