A Tangedco staff has been arrested under Pocso Act in Tiruvallur district for flashing a Rs 500 note at a minor victim and luring her under the influence of alcohol.

The accused, Suresh (54) of Manavala Nagar in Tiruvallur, was involved in the laying of high-tension cables between Sunguvarchatram and Alamathy and had been staying temporarily in Vellavedu.
The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when Suresh, who was drunk, saw a 14-year-old girl playing near his house and tried to make sexual advances by flashing currency.
Since the girl complained about this to her parents, a complaint was lodged with the Vellavedu police station. A case was registered and Suresh was arrested after an investigation and remanded.
