Man booked in abetment of suicide case

Thane, Oct 21 (UNI) The Thane police have registered a criminal case against a man for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 19-year-old girl in Badlapur town of the district a year ago.
An offence under section 306 of Indian Penal Code was registered with the Badlapur police station against one Pravin Bharadwaj on Tuesday in this connection, police said today.
On July 19, 2019, the deceased, a resident of Vimco Naka in Ambernath, committed suicide at her house by hanging self to a ceiling fan in the house with the help of a saree.
During post-mortem of the body, it came to light that the deceased was pregnant.
After a few days while checking the mobile phone of the deceased, the complainant (the father of the girl) found a chat message of the girl just before suicide to the accused, in which she had stated many things about their love and also said that “from today onwards I am removing all your worries”.
As the accused had deserted her, she was depressed and hence committed the extreme act.
This last chat message was almost a suicide note, it was stated.
No arrest has been made so far in connection with the incident, sources added.
