War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 2,828

Bhopal, Oct 21 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 2,828 on Wednesday in Madhya Pradesh where 17 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally rose to 1,63,296 with 1,118 new cases being detected during analysis of 26,546 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 12,386.

Indore continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest number of 260 fresh sufferers; Bhopal 223; Jabalpur 72; Gwalior 48; Balaghat 38; Sagar 31; Satna 28; Sidhi 27; Anuppur 26; Ujjain 23; Rewa, Chhatarpur and Betul 20 each; Umaria 19; Hoshangabad 18; Dhar 17; Ratlam 16 and Harda 15.

The silver lining is that 1,48,082 individuals recuperated; 1,222 of them on this very day.

Bhopal, Oct 21 (UNI) Reacting to the Election Commission notice issued against Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President and erstwhile chief minister Kamal Nath; saffron camp stalwart plus former central minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday urged the ECI to take serious note of remarks targeting womenfolk and initiate uncompromising action so that nobody ever dares to insult ‘matri shakti’.
“The Congress’ anti-dalit stance was unambiguously exposed by the manner in which the erstwhile Union minister publicly humiliated Cabinet Minister Imarti Devi (by making a certain comment during an electoral rally in Gwalior District’s Dabra),” the Rajya Sabha Member conveyed via social media.
