Bypoll an opportunity for people of Dumka to save their honour: Arjun Munda

Dumka, Oct 21 (UNI) Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda on Wednesday said that the bypolls in Dumka was an opportunity for the people to save their honour as the person whom they had elected as their MLA left them and resigned from the seat.
Addressing a public gathering while campaigning for BJP nominee Dr Louis Marandi in Mudabahal he said that the candidate who has been fielded by the JMM is not contesting to become an MLA for the welfare of the people but for his own interests wanted to become a legislator.
Arjun Munda said that no one in democracy has the right to put the people on line for fulfilling their own vested interests. He said that had Chief Minister Hemant Soren is not resigned after winning from Dumka people would have proudly claimed that their MLA is the Chief Minister of the state but now they have got an opportunity to save their honour.
Arjun Munda said that his department too had sent funds for the welfare of the people which was laying in the treasury as not a single rupee has been used and this steps of the state government have resulted in a loss for the poor tribals of the state as the government will not get the second instalment of funds unless the first instalment is spent.
The Union Minister also highlighted the importance of various centre sponsored schemes including providing scholarships to the students of the tribal community and opening of Eklavya Model Schools in the tribal-dominated blocks of the state.
